Our Story About The Kalyan Bhel

In the early 1970s, Ramesh and his father worked as market porters, facing tough financial times that halted Ramesh's education at the fourth standard. To support the family, Ramesh began sewing jaggery into sacks, while his mother juggled selling vegetables from a basket alongside working as a maid.

The turning point arrived in 1974, just outside the Kalyan Society, when Ramesh’s mother introduced Bhel from that very basket, primarily targeting schoolchildren. Her secret chutney recipe instantly captivated taste buds, marking the genesis of a beloved culinary sensation. Ramesh wholeheartedly embraced this venture, expanding the menu with customer-suggested delicacies like sev puri, pani puri, and ragda puri. Etc.

'Kalyan Bhel,' named after its origin outside the Kalyan Society, began in a humble basket and evolved into a wooden box, then a handcart, and eventually vehicles to meet escalating demands. For nearly 25 years, they operated on the streets until they secured a spacious shop near Bibvewadi, Pune

Their steadfast commitment to cleanliness, impeccable service, and an unwavering dedication to customer satisfaction remained steadfast throughout. Grounded in these core values, Kalyan Bhel expanded, establishing eight branches across Pune and ultimately reaching out to 38 countries, exporting their delectable products.

Starting from a modest basket, Kalyan Bhel's growth echoes a story of hard work, resilience, and an unyielding pursuit of excellence. Their journey epitomizes the power of dedication and commitment to crafting culinary delights that transcend boundaries, embracing global success while cherishing their local roots.
